My name is Scott Norville, and I live in Northampton (this is beginning to sound like something from a dating agency).I’ve had an interest in magic from the age of 5, from those dreadful birthday parties with a magician pulling random things out of hats etc.

That’s all I really thought magic was, just slight of hand and boring card tricks.

My perspective changed when I went to Las Vegas in 2003. I was staying at the Riveria casino and tucked away in the main part of the hotel there was a small magic shop.

I remember this part clear as day. I walked into the shop and there was this boy that was working behind the counter. He asked me if I had a dollar, I replied that I had and gave it to him. He began to scrunch up the note and then opened his palm. To my amazement the note began to rise out of thin air, it was floating higher and higher, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I was standing inches away from this note and couldn’t believe it!

After he got the note to float for around 20 seconds he quickly plucked it from the air and passed it back to me to examine. I was speechless!

He then asked me for a credit card. I thought, is this such a good idea as I didn’t know this man from Adam and he wanted my card!? Anyway I trustingly handed over my card to him, and straight away in one quick movement he said ‘watch this’. He throw the card like a frisbee towards me and the card went suddenly all around his body and then he caught it and gave the card back. Well, I was so impressed with this I brought every trick!

As soon as I left the shop I wanted to try it. I learnt how to do it in seconds. The look on people’s faces when you do this trick is truly amazing.

I left Vegas the next day to head back to England and I was itching to try this trick on the people I work with.

Later that week I was back at work, and I really wanted to try this trick on someone at work, but as usual I felt very nervous and was thinking ‘what would happen if it all goes wrong’ etc etc.

Anyway, back at work and a colleague walked into the office and I thought this is my chance. Without warning I asked the colleague for a bank note. He looked at me gone out, and asked why? I just replied, ‘I have something to show you’

He opened up his wallet and gave me his last £5, I took the money from him, scrunched it up and then I let the note float for around 20 seconds and once again as the boy did in Vegas, I just plucked the note back from thin air and handed it to him.

The look of pure shock and amazement, and the fact jon was speechless was priceless!

Then Instant Magic Tricks was born.

In 2004 we started a prototype website and we started to have numerous problems with the whole website layout and with the website designer. So after about 4 months of the site not even being live we had to end our idea for Instant Magic.

This year I decided to make a go of it once more as it’s a good opportunity for you to see how the tricks are performed and done. I'am aware of the problems we encountered previously, so I have had a new template made for Instant Magic.

I am now able to maintain my own site (thanks to a quick crash course with Flash and HTML coding) and edit my own video clips and generally do what I want to my site.

Featured monthly I have video games, monthly updates with whats happening in the magic world and special Team Instant Magic T-shirts to buy online and obviously great tricks which you are able to download instantly, hence the name, Instant Magic.

I hope you enjoy the site, and enjoy the tricks even more. But I warn you, be very careful, once you have seen one trick and you learn and perform it, there is no going back, you will be hooked. That’s exactly what happened to me!
